Aselsan’s FERSAH an Ideal Solution for Hull Mounted Sonars

Aselsan is highlighting its vast experience in underwater systems at the ongoing IDEF 2021, defence exhibition in Istanbul and new product showing much promise is its FERSAH new generation mid-frequency band, hull mounted active sonar.

The new sonar is now ready for export to meet the complex operational requirements of even the most demanding navies.

The primary function of the FERSAH active sonar is to detect and track submarines through sending and receiving acoustical signals within underwater environment.

The naval sensor also has passive sonar capabilities specifically for the detection, analysis and tracking of threats such as torpedoes as well as submarines and surface platforms.

FERSAH offers operators a wide range of operational modes including anti-submarine warfare, mine avoidance sonar, intercept sonar, passive sonar and underwater telephone.

Aselsan also states that in addition to its main operational modes, FERSAH features enhanced technology that increases the efficiency and operational competency of the user, by utilizing new high gain receptor electronics, water cooled compact cabinets, tactical map display, Low Frequency Analysis and Recording (LOFAR) as well as multiple mode display capabilities.

The FERSAH mid-frequency band, hull mounted active sonar is in the early stage of its life cycle offering users an up-to-date design and user-friendly interface.

ASELSAN also offers various solutions in this field; including torpedo counter measure systems, sonars, torpedo jammers and decoys, echo sounders and sonobuoys.
