Our Bureau - : Nov 1, 2022 - : 6:24 pm

KRI Kerambit-627, the 4th 60M Fast Missile Ship (KCR) made by PT PAL Indonesia recently carried out a successful test firing of its main weapon. The firing test was carried out earlier this month. The success of the results of the KRI Kerambit-627 firing test was evaluated using the results of the Magnetic Particle Test which was carried out after the SAT Gun test. The Magnetic Particle Test itself is intended to ensure that there is no damage to the weapons substructure and ship deck during the main armament mission.

KRI Kerambit-627 has now returned to PT PAL Indonesia’s facilities for the implementation of the Fit for But Not With (FFBNW) scheme. The process includes installation, integration of sensors and weapons systems at the PT PAL Warship Workshop. The warship was originally handed over to the Indonesian Navy in 2019.

“PT PAL has established good partnerships with various weapons companies from Europe, as well as Asia in meeting weapons support for KCR operations, in accordance with the requirements in the Minimum Essential Force,” said Chief Operating Officer (COO), Iqbal Fikri. 100 per cent of the design process to construction, of the 60m fast missile ship was carried out at PT PAL Indonesia. KRI Kerambit-627 was handed over to the Indonesian Navy in 2019.
