Viettel, a state-owned enterprise and operated by the Ministry of National Defence, is showcasing 60 military products and 59 civilian products at the ongoing VIDEX 2022.
Amnong the products on display at the event in a display area of 2,200 square meters are long-range thermal camera (for sea), infrared search and track system, long-range thermal camera (for air), thermal binocular, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV 03/06).
As a telecommunication group under the Vietnam Army, Viettel is increasingly proving it capabilities by operating in many fields of telecommunications, including information services, research and manufacture of electronics and telecommunications equipment, and network security, especially the defense and security industry.
With the goal of being named in the ranking of the world’s leading defense companies, Viettel currently provides products under the C5ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) combat model.
“Participating in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022, Viettel wishes to demonstrate the group’s capacity in the field of product research and development,” said Viettel General Director Tao Duc Thang. “If we want to get rid of the middle trap and not be dependent, we must be self-sufficient in high-tech equipment for both military and civilian use. To achieve the goal of technological autonomy, towards long-term goals, countries have been taking very methodical steps, focusing on giving priority to the field of research and development.”
The products produced by Viettel Group not only improve the military’s defense potential and help the country cut costs but are also meant for export.
