TAI Promotes Under-development T925 Multi-Role Utility Helicopter

A full scale model of the under-development T925 utility helicopter is on display at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) booth. The new helicopter is scheduled to make its first flight next year.

The T925, which is being developed to meet the needs of the Turkish Naval Forces, made its public debut at the recent Paris Air Show. The helicopter has a s larger carrying capacity than GÖKBEY, TAI’s first original product in the utility class. As a result, company officials refer to the unnamed product as a “Utility-2” helicopter. While GÖKBEY has a take-off weight of 6 tons and a carrying capacity of 12 passengers, the T925 will be able to carry 21 people.

According to company officials, T925 will use the same power system as the ATAK-2 and utilize many of the same avionic components developed by Aselsan for the T625 GOKBEY. The use of the same infrastructure as Gökbey and ATAK-2 will make the new helicopter’s testing and production processes easier.

The General Directorate of Forestry of Turkey will be the first user of the new helicopter. TAI will provide 8 T925 helicopters with a water carrying capacity of 4 tons to the General Directorate of Forestry in 2026 as part of the agreement.
