The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force Bayi Aerobatic Team is making its debut in the Middle East with their new J-10C aircraft. The team is operating a formation of seven aircraft.

The aerobatic team departed from a western airport in China last Wednesday and flew more than 7,000 kilometers, completing the overseas flight for the first time without accompanying guidance and transport aircraft’s support.

The team will conduct four aerial performances at the 18th Dubai Airshow.

This airshow marks the team’s second appearance in the UAE following its debut in November 2017.

Bayi Aerobatic Team was instituted over 60 years ago and has flown various types of aerobatic aircraft successively, including J-5, J-6, JJ-5, J-7EB, J-7GB, J-10 and J-10C.

The Chinese aerobatic team has made more than 700 aerial displays for more than 700 delegations from over 170 countries and regions, and undertaken flight demonstration missions abroad on eight occasions.
