Dassault Aviation has inaugurated a new ExecuJet Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aimed at enhancing service for Falcon operators in Southeast Asia on Tuesday (Apr. 2).
The new service centre can support 10-15 aircraft simultaneously, including Dassault’s latest offerings like the Falcon 6X, recently put into operation, and the larger 10X, anticipated to hit the market in 2027. The ExecuJet MRO network operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation.
Spanning 13,890 square metres (149,500 sq. ft.), the Kuala Lumpur centre is positioned to act as a vital hub for business aviation support across the Asia Pacific region, where the usage of business jets is on the rise. It was purpose-built to cater to business aircraft needs and features advanced amenities such as an integrated overhead crane for aircraft engine replacements. This new facility supersedes a smaller establishment originally designated for aircraft parking.
Environmental sustainability played a significant role in the design of the Kuala Lumpur ExecuJet MRO complex. It incorporates various eco-friendly elements including energy-efficient LED lighting, solar electric panels, and rooftop rainwater harvesting systems.
“Over the last half-decade, we have more than doubled our global support capacity and considerably modernized our MRO capability. We now have more than 60 service locations and 15 parts distribution centres around the world, along with the GoTeams necessary to support aircraft in the field 24/7 wherever they may be,” said Jean Kayanakis, SVP for worldwide customer service.
“This is part of a strategy aimed at keeping us as close as possible to our customers and offering all the services needed to maximize the up-time and value of their Falcon fleets,” he added.
Dassault is also expanding its MRO network to other regions. In addition to Kuala Lumpur, the company is constructing a flagship MRO facility in Melbourne, Florida, set to open in 2025 to cater to Falcons in North and South America. Moreover, another authorised service centre, Pro Star Aviation, near Boston, is being added to increase capacity in the Northeast U.S.
The company is relocating a facility in Sorocaba, near São Paulo, Brazil, to the newly opened Catarina International Executive Airport, and recently established a new authorised service centre in New Delhi to serve the Indian market.
Last year, Dassault inaugurated a significant new ExecuJet MRO centre at Dubai World Central Airport, significantly enhancing service to customers in the Middle East.
Furthermore, Dassault is expanding the number of MRO locations capable of performing C checks and other major inspections, as well as handling technology retrofits such as the EASy IV flight deck, the FalconEye Combined Vision System, and the FalconConnect high-speed Internet connectivity package.
