China Eastern Airlines has reached an agreement with Amadeus concerning international NDC distribution, marking a significant development for both parties. Under this agreement, the airline becomes the first Mainland Chinese carrier to engage in worldwide NDC distribution with Amadeus.
“China Eastern Airlines is an important and valued partner. The agreement signed today is a milestone for Amadeus, expanding our presence in the key Chinese airline market. The deal deepens our collaboration with China Eastern Airlines and will provide our global network of travel sellers with the ability to easily search, shop, and service product offerings from the airline,” said Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President of the Travel Unit and Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Amadeus.
The adoption of NDC technology by the airline will enable the provision of more comprehensive, customizable content to travel sellers, thereby enhancing the promotion of its branded and ancillary products. This expanded access to a diverse range of offers and product features will empower travel sellers worldwide to offer travellers greater choice and superior customer service, contributing to enhanced traveller satisfaction. Additionally, travel sellers will gain increased access to enriched content from China’s domestic airlines.
