Aselsan Eyes Malaysian Market with Growing Weapons Portfolio

Turkish defence firm, ASELSAN is showcasing a growing range of defence equipment and services at the ongoing show, in order to fulfill essential requirements of its clients in the field of defence and security. Malaysia is considered as a key market for Aselsan as it is modernising its armed forces and eyeing the best in defence equipment and platforms.

“As ASELSAN, we are excited to showcase our unique defense solutions that mainly focused on the needs of the Thai end users and the projects that we pursue in the region while determining the systems that we exhibit today,” a company spokesperson told Daily News. ASELSAN’s solutions are being successfully used by several countries in the region such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. “In this regard, we would like to preserve our sustainable growth and determined to further increase our activities in order to gradually increase our presence in the Thailand as well,” the official indicated.

ASELSAN is maintaining a significant presence at the show to highlight its state of art technologies already in use of various countries. On display at the show are a wide range of systems which are border security systems, naval system solutions and land platform solutions.

Aselsan already has customers in more than 15 countries in the Asia & Pacific region. Aselsan is rapidly growing its portfolio cutting-edge defence products to meet the needs of its customers and in 2023 alone introduced new defence systems into the market, such as the GÖZDE guidance kit, SADAK national release system, KARAKURT reconnaissance and targeting systems, YARASA HF electronic support system and AYI HF electronic attack system. Aselsan recently commissioned a new avionics production facility and has also completed its AESA radar integration and production building. It has also started work on another production facility for manufacture of guided ammunition.

Turkey’s first autonomous underwater vehicle, DERİNGÖZ was developed by Aselsan which also developed the ALBATROS Kamikaze Unmanned Marine Vehicle swarm. Important milestones have also been achieved for cutting-edge defence systems such as the GÜRZ hybrid air defence system, GÖKSUR close air defence missile system, GÖKDEMİR missile launching system and GÖKBERK mobile laser weapon systems. GÜRZ stands out as an innovative air and missile defence system that offers multiple interceptor capabilities against very low and low altitude air threats. GÖKSUR can perform air and missile defence missions against a threat set including anti-ship missiles, armed/unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, warplanes and helicopters.
