Liebherr, Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering Sign MRO Deal

Liebherr-Aerospace and Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering have signed a three-year contract for the maintenance of heat transfer equipment on Airbus A320ceo/neo aircraft. The agreement covers not only Egyptair’s own fleet but also the fleets of other airlines supported by Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering.

The maintenance work, including re-coring and major repairs, will be carried out at Liebherr Aerospace Saline, Inc., in Michigan, USA. This facility has been a key centre for heat transfer equipment services for several decades. The collaboration aims to improve response times and reduce turnaround for maintenance tasks.

In Cairo, Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering will be responsible for non-welding repairs, minor repairs, and testing, further enhancing its technical capabilities and expanding its customer base.

“We are delighted to be working with Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering, one of the leading providers of MRO services in aviation,” said Alex Vlielander, Chief Customer Officer of Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS. “This agreement sets out the framework of a win-win partnership for both parties that will allow us in particular to further develop our repair network.”

Eng. Ibrahim Fathy, Chairman and CEO of Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering, commented, “We are very happy to work with Liebherr-Aerospace to support our fleet of A320ceo/neo and the fleets of our customers that we already take care of under already existing maintenance contracts. Liebherr provides a high level of performance and flexibility. They understand and meet our and our customers’ requirements.”

Fathy also noted that Egyptair will leverage Liebherr’s expertise to strengthen its position in the MRO sector. He added, “This strategic collaboration not only enhances Egyptair’s technical capabilities but also enables it to deliver highly efficient and timely services across its expansive MRO network.” The partnership is expected to drive business growth and extend the company’s customer base.
