Teusan Hybrid Heavy Quadcopter Nearing Maiden Flight

Teusan Technology and Space Industry Inc. (Teusan) is showcasing its TEUCOPTER ‘Multi-Purpose Hybrid and Autonomous Drone’ at the ongoing SAHA Expo. A company official told Daily News, that the maiden flight of the Hybrid Heavy Quadcopter is scheduled to take place “soon” with Research & Development (R&D) activities on the drone’s development progressing well.

The multi-purpose hybrid and autonomous drone can automatically take off within 5 seconds in disaster situations such as earthquakes and provide uninterrupted communication within a 400 km area, and can easily and quickly perform observation tasks and communication by attaching a camera or radio relay system. It can perform different operations in remote and high-access areas by installing sensors and actuators for different tasks such as mining, mapping, spraying and monitoring.

The TEUCOPTER can stay in the air for up to 10 hours without needing fuel, has the feature of operating in a multirotor structure with electrical energy obtained from the liquid fuel engine. In case of liquid fuel depletion or liquid fuel system failures, it can complete its mission, when necessary, with the integrated battery systems and emergency mode. The TEUCOPTER also features autonomous vertical landing/takeoff capability.
