AAPA: Passenger traffic grows in April, cargo markets subdued

The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) has released preliminary traffic figures for April, which indicated growth in international air passenger traffic.

According to the data, Asia Pacific airlines carried 17.8 million passengers in April, 3.4% more than April 2012. On the other hand, international air cargo demand fell 0.8%.

Andrew Herdman, AAPA Director General noted, “Overall, the first four months of the year saw a 5.6% increase in the number of international passengers carried by the region’s airlines, whilst international air cargo traffic declined by 3.2%.”
