Air Asia India in April

Air Asia CEO Tony Fernandes has said that the company’s new joint venture with Tata Industries will operate a fleet of Airbus A320-200 aircraft, starting with four to five planes before expanding to ten within twelve months.

The new CEO of AirAsia India, Mittu Chandilya said that he was looking forward to the challenge, having “aviation .. a big part of previous jobs,” he says.

AirAsia India received a No Objection Certificate from the Civil Aviation Ministry in September 2013, and has been planning the launch since then.
