Air Asia still buying

AirAsia X has ordered 25 more A330-300s from Airbus, bumping the operator’s total A330 orders to 51.

“This order stamps our firm intent to dominate the long-haul, low cost carrier space and marks the next phase in our development,” said Tony Fernandes, director of AirAsia X.

The aircraft will further the airline’s plans for expansion plans in Malaysia, strengthen the connectivity between long-haul and short-haul low-cost networks, and serve the proposed AirAsia X hub in Thailand, said the company.
