Air India retraining

: Jan 31, 2014 - : 11:40 pm

Air India is to retrain some 8,000 employees as part of a deal to upgrade it to Star Alliance standards prior to joining the group later this year. The carrier was due to join in 2011, but the Alliance dropped the invite following various internal issues.

The upgrade will bring Air India into line with Star Alliance standards across airport lounges, service standards and passenger handling. The alliance means Air India FF members will be able to redeem air miles on top-tier carriers like Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Air China, Air Canada, United, Turkish and Thai.
