AirAsia has announced the expansion of its operations in Malaysia to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS), also known as Subang Airport. This move enhances its connectivity and capacity, reinforcing its position as the nation’s largest airline.
Complementing its main hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2), the new operations at Subang Airport offer travellers additional connectivity and a more convenient option due to the airport’s proximity to the city.
Starting 30 August 2024, AirAsia will operate 14 weekly flights to two domestic destinations, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, from Subang Airport. This marks a significant milestone for the airline and the revitalisation of Subang Airport.

“The Subang Airport operation will boost AirAsia Malaysia’s domestic network from 920 flights weekly to 948 flights weekly with a total of 40 routes. This additional operation is expected to drive our next phase of growth, not just in Malaysia but across the region. We are eagerly anticipating the addition of more routes from Subang, especially international ones, which are currently in the planning stages and subject to regulatory approval. This will reinforce our vision of transforming Malaysia into a premier aviation hub.
