Our Bureau - : Aug 5, 2024 - : 8:44 pm

AirAsia X (AAX) has recommenced its Kuala Lumpur to Chongqing route, which was first launched in 2015.

Starting 15 October 2024, AirAsia X (flight code D7) will operate four weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Chongqing. With this addition, the airline will serve nine destinations in China, including Changsha, Xi’an, and Chengdu (Tianfu), totalling 53 flights weekly.

To mark the resumption, AAX is offering promotional fares for flights to Chongqing starting from RM339 one way. This promotion is available for booking on AirAsia MOVE (formerly airasia Superapp) and airasia.com until 11 August 2024, for travel between 15 October 2024 and 28 March 2025. Malaysians can benefit from visa-free entry to China for up to 15 days for tourism purposes until the end of 2025, while Chinese citizens can enjoy visa-free travel to Malaysia for 30 days until 31 December 2026.

Chongqing, with a population of nearly 32 million, is the largest municipality in the world. Known as the “Mountain City” and “The City of Fog,” the city is built in a mountainous area and is often shrouded in mist, creating a fairyland-like atmosphere. Travellers can enjoy the stunning views along the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, experience the unique Liziba House-Crossing Metro, and indulge in the spicy Hot Pot.
