Airbus Defence and Space has completed the acquisition of Infodas, a German company specialising in cybersecurity and IT solutions for the public sector, including defence and critical infrastructures. Infodas will now operate as a subsidiary of Airbus, following the necessary regulatory approvals.
Karen Florschuetz, Executive Vice President of Connected Intelligence at Airbus Defence and Space, commented, “This acquisition supports Airbus’ strategic ambition to strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio for the benefit of its European and global customers.”
The growing threat of cyber attacks and the increasing digitalisation of defence and aerospace systems have made cybersecurity a key focus for Airbus. The company has been enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities to protect its products, operations, and customers, particularly in relation to major military programmes like the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
Infodas, headquartered in Cologne, employs around 250 staff and generates annual revenues of approximately 50 million euros. It has additional offices in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, and Mainz. Infodas is certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for IT security services, including system auditing, consulting, and penetration testing. Its Secure Domain Transition (SDoT) Security Gateway products are approved for classification levels up to secret and are certified under Common Criteria (CC) and other country-specific standards.
