All passengers on Singapore Airlines (SIA), SilkAir and Scoot flights will be required to have their own mask with them and wear it throughout the flight.
Passengers must also observe safe distancing measures when embarking and disembarking from the aircraft and when queueing to use the toilet.
Scoot will also implement additional COVID-19 precautions for passengers, including the requirement for all passengers to wear masks onboard flights and submit a Health Declaration form prior to check-in. Temperature screening will also be conducted at check-in.
These measures, which are in accordance with a Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) directive, took effect from 11.59pm on 10 May 2020, the airline said in a statement posted on its website.
Since earlier this year, Scoot has already implemented several of these measures to safeguard the safety and health of our passengers and crew. All Scoot operating crew already undergo pre-flight temperature taking, are required to monitor their health, and must wear the appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) while on duty.
All Scoot flights currently operate with limited in-flight service and, where possible, passengers are seated to ensure safe distancing. Scoot also has in place a set of standard operating procedures for handling of infectious diseases, as well as enhanced operating procedures in place for cleaning and disinfecting our aircraft.
Previously, Scoot permitted up to 10kg and 15kg cabin baggage in Economy and ScootPlus respectively. To limit baggage on board and facilitate security clearance and boarding, we will only allow up to 3kg of cabin baggage on board. The remaining cabin baggage will need to be checked-in, at no additional cost. The ground handling agents will be guiding passengers on the new cabin baggage requirements at the entry point to the check-in counters.
Scoot will continue to monitor the situation, and evolving regulatory guidance, and review our operational procedures as required.
