The All Nippon Airways Group (ANA Group) has announced the expansion of its De Havilland fleet with the acquisition of seven additional DHC-8-400 aircraft.
These new aircraft will be modified to align with the specifications of ANA Group's existing DHC-8-400 fleet, ensuring they meet the airline's stringent safety management standards and maintenance requirements. De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited will procure and re-condition the aircraft, certifying them according to original manufacturer specifications before delivering them to ANA under warranty.
"Our decision to expand the DHC-8-400 fleet reflects our ongoing commitment to reliable and economical aircraft that will enhance our existing fleet," said Hidekazu Yoshida, Executive Vice President of Procurement at ANA.
"De Havilland Canada's comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul support will help us maintain our high standards of safety and service while supporting long-term reliability," he added.
The fuel-efficient DHC-8-400 aircraft has been a part of the ANA Group since 1 November 2003. To modernise its fleet and prioritise customer convenience, ANA Group will gradually introduce new aircraft starting in 2025 to ensure a sustainable operational structure.
Founded in 1952 with just two helicopters, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has grown to become the largest airline in Japan. Today, ANA HOLDINGS Inc. (ANA HD) is recognised as one of the World's Most Admired companies by Fortune.
Established in 2013, ANA HD is the largest airline group holding company in Japan, comprising 69 companies. It offers three distinct airline brands: ANA, Peach, the leading low-cost carrier in Japan, and AirJapan, launched in 2024 for international routes covering Asia.
