As part of its concerted effort to provide best-of-its-class defense solutions to its customers in Qatar, Turkish defence major Aselsan is exhibiting its entire range of advanced capabilities at DIDMEX 2022, which is taking place in Doha.
The products and technologies that the company is highlighting at the biennial event include Naval System Solutions, Military Communication Systems, Remote Controlled Weapon Stations, Electro-Optics, Weapon Sights, Guidance Kits, RF Jammers, Radars, and Coastal Security Solutions.
The company’s wholehearted participation at the show is testament to the deep-rooted ties of fraternity and unwavering support between Qatar and Turkey. Over decades, the two countries have consistently strived to strengthen their relationship for mutual benefit and have become strategic partners in many areas.
Aselsan has adopted a “local to business” approach in order to consolidate its presence in Qatar. Its new regional Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Center “ASELSAN QSTP-B” office in Doha, Qatar will be dedicated to carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul, training, and technical operations. The office resonates with the company’s ambition of offering its deep expertise in its comprehensive engineering capabilities to its clients while providing round-the-clock support to meet their requirements onsite with the highest priority.
Aselsan continues the cooperation with the Qatari Authorities in order to acquire and develop the most innovative technologies to secure self-sufficiency in national protection. In this respect, local investments will keep growing and expanding through establishment of local manufacturing plants, transfer of technology, know-how and experience in order to support local military and industrial infrastructure.
As part of its efforts to expand its products range and global footprint, Aselsan is committed to supplying its high-end products and unique solutions for specific requirements of its clients and partners in the region. Assigning great importance to innovative technology, research and development and end-user success, Aselsan continues serving Qatar’s vision of revolutionizing the State’s defense and security sector as per “Qatar National Vision 2030”, even while protecting Qatar’s values and assets.
Aselsan has recorded enviable growth through the pandemic, with its turnover in 2021 increasing by 25% compared to the previous year. Last year, the company sold its products to six new countries while consolidating its presence in the countries where its products were already in use. One of the major reasons for the company’s success is its investment in research and development activities; in 2021, a total of 632 million USD was spent on R&D.
In addition to showcasing many of its products at the ongoing show, Aselsan is also highlighting the capabilities of its “New Generation Centennial VTZ Combat Management System.” The company offers a turnkey combat suite solution by orchestrating a variety of its radars, electro-optics, electronic warfare suites and sonar sensors, weapons/missiles, communications, navigation and system integration practices to meet the most complex operational requirements of the combatant navies. The system is scalable as per user and platform needs, reliable, and able to integrate every sensor and effector.
