Aselsan, Türkiye's leading defence company, has announced eye-catching financial results for the first half of 2024.
Revenues reached 35.7 billion TL (over US$1 billion) with an 8% growth rate, while net profit grew by 133% reaching 3.6 billion TL. The company recorded 8.7 billion TL EBITDA with a 9 growth. New contracts worth US$2.6 billion have brought the total backlog of the company to US$12.3 billion. Of the new contracts, internatioanl deals amount to US$365 million.
"We are glad to see that our successful operations and game changing technologies reflect to our first half financial results, proving that we are on track with our 2030 goals.," said Aselsan President and CEO Ahmet Akyol. "We are among the world's 10 fastest growing defence companies and are now in 42nd position in the "Top 100 Defence Companies List" of Defense News. The first half of 2024 was remarkable, especially in terms of export performance, as we signed export deals for the first time for eight of our products, including KORKUT, CENK, FERSAH, ASELFLIR 500, and GÖZDE. We also were successful in exporting to three new countries that we have not exported before.
"We delivered our ALP 300 G Portable Early Warning Radar System and our AESA Aircraft Nose Radar to our security forces, thus meeting all the needs of our country in the field of radar," Akyol added. "We continued the development of GÖKSUR Close in Air Defense System, and we launched the 8x8 vehicle integrated version of the KORKUT Air Defense Weapon System in Europe. We equipped TÜRKSAT 6A with ASELSAN's advanced communication payloads. We equipped our national submarine TCG PİRİREİS with our state of the art communication systems. We also successfully completed the extended range firing tests of our medium range Hisar-O missile, hitting the target with extreme precision, and the test of TOLUN guided munition fired from AKINCI UCAV.
"As we approach our 50th anniversary, we have set a vision for the future, with a primary focus on 2030 and beyond, called AselsaneXt 2030. The ultimate goal of this vision is to take our place among Top 30 defence companies worldwide by 2030," Akyol said.
