Improtex Group of Companies has been providing mechanical demining machines “Revival P” to the Agency for Demining of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA).
The Revival P, manufactured under the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ campaign, is on display at the show.
In July this year, Improtex delivered another 10 units of “Revival P” mechanical demining machines.
According to international demining standards, mechanical demining tools are used to detect pedestrian and anti-tank mine lines, prepare areas for clearing areas, and shorten suspicious-dangerous areas with the support of mine-detecting dogs.
Mechanical demining tools, which are one of the demining methodologies, are one of the most important tools in terms of effective and safe execution of operations.
“Revival P” anti-personnel mechanical minesweepers are resistant to 7-kilogram TNT explosions. The total weight of the equipment is 6.5 tons, the remote control distance is 2000 meters. Machines with a cleaning depth of 300 mm are easily operated in areas with hard soil cover and under a large inclination angle. Based on established standards, ground pounding by hammers placed on the front of mechanical vehicles ensures operations in difficult terrain. Remote control of the machines guarantees the safety of the staff,” ANAMA said. The obtained “Revival P” demining tools will greatly contribute to the humanitarian demining activities carried out in the framework of the “Great Return” program, as well as for the safe return of former IDPs to their homelands, it added.
Meanwhile, to expand cooperation and exchange experiences with international organizations specializing in combating the threat of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), a delegation led by Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of ANAMA, visited Vietnam recently.
During the visit, meetings were held with officials from the Vietnam Mine Action Center and the Quang Tri Mine Action Center.
It should be noted that Vietnam is one of the countries that has faced the threat of landmines and other explosive remnants of war and has extensive long-term experience in combating this threat. For ANAMA, learning from international experience in mine action, expanding partnerships in this field, and applying newly gained knowledge to demining activities are of particular importance.During the meetings, discussions were held on exchanging advanced experiences in this area, establishing and developing close cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest. The ANAMA delegation highlighted the current problem of landmines and other explosive remnants of war in Azerbaijan and provided information on the activities being carried out to address this issue, the methodologies being applied, and the training conducted in humanitarian demining.
The delegation’s next meetings on this topic will continue during the visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia shortly.
