The ongoing edition of Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (NATSEC) Asia 2024 now underway is slated to result in a glut of orders further speeding up the modernisation of the Malaysian armed forces.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin stated that the defence contracts and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) that will be concluded over the course of the defence exhibition will be worth over RM6 billion while Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said agreements worth an additional RM2.1 billion would be concluded by the Home Ministry.

The increased orders are an indication of the strong will of the Government to modernise Malaysia’s armed forces. The previous edition of Defence Services Asia resulted in orders and MoUs worth approximately RM7.1 billion.
