DSIT Solutions Ltd, a subsidiary of RAFAEL Advanced Defence Systems Ltd will showcase its ship’s ASW suite which will include, for the first time at IMDEX, an end-to end Torpedo Defence System.
Hanan Marom, DSIT’s VP Business Development and Marketing, said, “We are proud to present, for the first time at IMDEX, a variety of our advanced and leading solutions for active and passive protection of surface vessels – as well as our Domain Awareness solution that increases underwater situational awareness and defends countries against underwater threats. DSIT’s systems are operationally proven and have been acquired by customers around the world. Our collaboration with RAFAEL is a force multiplier and enables us to provide an end-to-end solution under one roof, with a legacy of over 30 years in the field. We look forward to expanding our activities on the Asian continent.”
DSIT is one of the world’s leaders in underwater defence and security solutions and is presenting its advanced Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) suite for surface vessels and its multi-layer underwater situational awareness solutions at the show.
Ship ASW Suite
DSIT’s comprehensive underwater ASW suite for surface vessel protection defends against all types of underwater threats. Combining DSIT’s Hull Mounted Sonar (HMS) system and Active and/or Passive Towed Array Sonar (TAS) system, it delivers underwater target search, detection, tracking and classification in passive, active and parallel modes.
Each sonar system includes Machine Learning (ML) techniques for automation algorithms, reducing operator workload and required expertise.
The ASW suite is operational in both the medium frequencies of the HMS and the low frequencies of the TAS system, and can be installed on a variety of surface vessels.
The ASW suite also includes a powerful next-generation Torpedo Defence Solution, combining DSIT’s sonar systems – comprising its leading torpedo detection, classification and tracking capabilities, together with RAFAEL’s Anti-Torpedo Defence System (ATDS) – composed of the TORBUSTER SP hard-kill solution and, optionally, the Scutter Mk3 soft-kill decoys.
This combined Torpedo Defence System can be installed on a variety of surface vessels and serve as part of a complete protection suite that includes automatic torpedo detection, classification, and alerts, as well as hard- and soft-kill capabilities.
Underwater Domain Awareness Solution
DSIT’s Underwater Domain Awareness Solution includes the company’s Shield family of sonar systems which comprises the SeaShield Coastal Domain Awareness Sonar (CDAS) System, the AquaShield – robust stationary underwater threat detection sonar system, and the PointShield – portable underwater threat detection sonar system.
SeaShield is a state-of-the-art ASW system that provides underwater long-range, real-time coastal surveillance capabilities, delivering comprehensive situational awareness of the underwater domain.
Together with the AquaShield and PointShield sonar systems, it protects littoral waters, entire coastlines, maritime borders, and strategic assets and infrastructure including port basins, entrances and anchorage areas as well as harbors, ports and oil and gas terminals.
System capabilities include automatic underwater threat detection, tracking, and classification that distinguishes between submarines and other underwater threats and objects, as well as an automatic alert that is instantly sounded upon detection of an underwater intruder.
