Abu Dhabi headquartered Edge Group is marking its maiden appearance at the ongoing defence show in Hanoi, showcasing its rapidly growing portfolio of cutting-edge defence solutions.
The UAE based firm’s presence at Vietnam Defence Expo highlights its plans to engage directly with regional stakeholders and offer solutions tailored for Vietnam’s diverse operational needs. Edge is showcasing scale models of its Rabdan 8x8, Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) in addition to NIMR’s Ajban 452, a lightweight tactical vehicle. The company is also presenting its state-of-the-art cellular interception solution, ActivecelL-B and innovative Skyshield counter-drone system. Edge is also presenting its secure communication products, including the latest Katim handsets and Katim Gateway network encryption solutions. These deliver ultra-secure communications for government and military applications, ensuring operational security in critical environments.
The company’s presence at Hanoi, underscores Edge’s commitment to expanding its presence in Asia and establishing itself as a key partner for defence stakeholders in the region, a company release stated. “By showcasing its cutting-edge portfolio and engaging directly with regional partners, Edge aims to build lasting collaborations and deliver tailored solutions that align with the unique needs of end users. With a proactive approach to addressing the demands of Vietnam and the broader Asian market, Edge is demonstrating its willingness to adapt and innovate, reinforcing its position as a trusted global leader in advanced technology and defence solutions,” Edge Group informed further.
Edge has rapidly grown into a dominant force in the global defence industry, since its establishment in 2019. Over a span of just five years, the Group’s product portfolio has grown nearly seven times, from 30 to over 200 solutions across air, land, sea, and cyber domains. Vietnam also has a large requirement for maritime systems. Edge’s expertise also extends to naval systems, where its local innovation and global collaborations have delivered advanced platforms. Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) which specialises in the design, construction, and maintenance of advanced naval vessels is the cornerstone of Edge’s maritime expertise.
The company’s portfolio includes sophisticated ships such as corvettes, offshore patrol vessels, and support crafts and ADSB’s commitment to innovation and quality has ensured that its platforms, like the Rabdan FA-400, are tailored to the evolving needs of modern naval operations. ADSB has also been integrating autonomous technologies into naval platforms, enabling next-generation capabilities for surveillance, patrol, and defence missions. Edge also has a Joint Venture with Fincantieri, known as Maestral and this strategic collaboration has enhanced, the UAE based firm’s design portfolio to include advanced frigates, underwater systems, and other sophisticated maritime solutions.
Edge is also one of the global leaders in precision-guided munitions and smart weapon. Through its entity Halcon, Edge now offers the Thunder and Desert Sting series of precision munitions in addition to loitering munitions such as the Shadow and Hunter weapons. Edge has also emerged as a leader in development of autonomous systems which are a key focus area for the company, through its entities Adasi, Anavia, ADSB, and Milrem Robotics. It now offers a comprehensive portfolio of unmanned systems tailored to diverse operational needs. Adasi excels in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), providing cutting-edge platforms that offer real-time intelligence, precision targeting, and operational adaptability.
