Embraer, DECEA Sign Contract to Modernise Air Traffic Control

Embraer announced a significant development for Brazilian air traffic during the Farnborough International Airshow. Atech, an Embraer Group company specialising in systems engineering and situational awareness technologies, has signed contracts with the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA).

The two new contracts, amounting to USD 17 million, aim to modernise control centres and enhance strategic solutions for managing national airspace flow. The solutions, SAGITARIO and SIGMA, have been developed by Atech in collaboration with the Brazilian Airspace Control System Implementation Commission (CISCEA/DECEA).

SAGITARIO is a crucial system for air traffic management across Brazil. It processes data from various sources, such as radars and satellites, into a single visual interface for air traffic controllers. This integrated view enables quicker and more precise decision-making, ensuring the safety and efficient flow of air traffic.

SIGMA is a comprehensive solution for air traffic flow management, optimising the management of air traffic information, flight plans, airway and airport capacities, and distributing air traffic more effectively.

These new contracts reinforce the long-standing partnership between Atech and DECEA, solidifying Atech’s position as a leader in developing advanced technological solutions for the Brazilian aviation sector.

Atech CEO Rodrigo Persico expressed great satisfaction with these contracts: “We feel honoured and committed to DECEA/CISCEA. These contracts mark an important milestone for Atech and for the development of aerospace technology in Brazil. We believe that the modernised solutions will contribute significantly to the optimisation of Brazilian air traffic, benefiting passengers, airlines, and the aviation sector as a whole.”
