Embraer, Scoot Sign Agreement for Collaborative Inventory Planning

Our Bureau - : Feb 20, 2024 - : 4:16 pm

Embraer and Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, have entered a contract for the Embraer Collaborative Inventory Planning (ECIP), a program aimed at optimizing inventory levels to reduce operational costs. This agreement, in addition to Scoot’s existing Pool Program, will support Scoot’s new fleet of nine E190-E2 jets, making it the first ECIP customer in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Our continued partnership with Embraer is testament of our commitment to deliver optimal performance with the new E190-E2 fleet,” said Ng Chee Keong, Chief Operating Officer of Scoot. “As we anticipate the arrival of our first Embraer jet in the near future, this strategic arrangement will help ensure operational efficiency.”

“Embraer’s wide suite of services is built on understanding and anticipating the needs of our airline customers in a very dynamic environment,” said Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services & Support. “We thank Scoot for their trust in us as we work towards the operations of their fleet of E190-E2.”

Singapore serves as the hub for Embraer’s services and support operations in the Asia-Pacific region, with a Regional Distribution Centre located within Changi Airport’s free trade zone. This center offers round-the-clock spare parts provision and support for Embraer’s customers across the region.

The ECIP program provides various benefits, including minimized customer expenditure as most inventory investment is handled by Embraer, fixed yearly pricing for covered items, cash flow predictability, data-driven operations, and access to Embraer’s material services management expertise and global logistics network.
