Embraer hosted the C-390 Millennium and A-29 Super Tucano of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) at Embraer Executive Jets’ headquarters near the Melbourne Orlando International Airport on March 18-19. It was the inaugural visit for both aircraft to the area.

In addition to the defense aircraft, Embraer also showcased the Praetor 600 and the Phenom 300E, the best-selling light jet for 12 consecutive years.

“We were proud to host both our C-390 Millenium and A-29 Super Tucano at our Melbourne facility, allowing us to engage with an important and diverse audience while showcasing an aircraft built just hours away in Jacksonville,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security. “The A-29 Super Tucano has been an important part of our manufacturing footprint in Florida for over 10 years, and we see big opportunities for both aircraft in the market with perhaps the potential to bring the C-390 here, as well”.

The C-390 can carry more payload (26 tons) compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft and flies faster (470 knots) and farther. It is capable of performing a wide range of missions, such as transporting and dropping cargo and troops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian missions, operating on temporary or unpaved runways such as packed earth, soil, and gravel. The aircraft has been selected by South Korea, Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal and Brazil.

The A-29 Super Tucano is a turboprop light attack aircraft flown by 16 air forces around the world and has surpassed 500,000 flight hours globally, with 60,000 of those in combat. The aircraft can perform various roles ranging from close air support to air interdiction, coupled with a diverse array of weaponry depending on the environment.
