EPI, a part of EDGE Group and a key entity in the UAE’s aerospace, oil & gas, and defence sectors, has extended its existing contract with Airbus Atlantic, a prominent company in aerostructures. The renewed agreement, which now runs until 2031, involves the production of critical flight-ready airframes for the A320 and A330 aircraft models.
The collaboration will see EPI employing advanced CNC machining technology with a capacity of up to 7-metre components. In addition, EPI’s facilities will handle specialised paint and assembly processes with automated installations that meet stringent quality standards. Inspections during production and post-production will rely on technologies such as the 7-metre Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to maintain manufacturing precision.
Michael Deshaies, CEO of EPI, commented on the extension: “This contract extension demonstrates our ability to meet the expectations of our partners and support their strategic goals. It also strengthens the UAE’s aviation manufacturing sector and enhances local production capabilities through initiatives like ‘Make It in the Emirates.’ In the coming years, EPI will be a crucial contributor to Airbus’ growth, particularly in scaling the Single Aisle Programme, by ensuring compliance across areas such as technology integration, systems development, and relevant accreditations.”
The agreement was formalised at the Airbus D2P conference in Toulouse, with the D2P status confirming Airbus’ trust in EPI as a preferred supplier in its value chain.
