Escribano Mechanical & Engineering of Spain is showcasing its Sentinel 12.7 mm remote-control weapon system (RCWS) for the first time at the ongoing show. A company spokesperson, confirmed that this is the first time the weapon system is being displayed here in Bangkok and said that the company’s market activities with the Thai military were related to RCWS and Electro-Optical (EO) systems. “Our goal for the next few years is to establish a stable position in the Thai defence market, as we have in other parts of the world. We aim to strengthen ties and explore potential opportunities for collaboration between Spain and Thailand,” the spokesperson for Escribano stated.

The Sentinel 12.7 mm RCWS is a lightweight and compact system, which features 2-axis gyro-stabilization and can operate during both day and night conditions for combat, surveillance, target identification, and tracking missions. It has been specially designed system to be integrated into a wide range of platforms, boats, and vessels and has short and medium-range defence capabilities with high firing accuracy. The weight of the entire system without weapons and ammunition is less than 180 kg.

Escribano’s Sentinel 2.0 RCWS can mount different calibers, though its standard configuration is with 12.7mm (M2) or a grenade launcher (MK19). There remains the option however, to mount other calibers: 5.56mm (MG4), 7.62mm (MG3), 14.5 (KPVT), Gatling Dillon M134D, smoke launchers (40, 76, 80mm). The Sentinel 2.0 RCWS’ modular design facilitates logistic commonality with Escribano’s land RWS Guardian 2.0.
