Japan Keen on Export of Aeromedical Evacuation Unit

Our Bureau - : Mar 16, 2023 - : 7:00 am

Japan is looking for customers for the aeromedical evacuation unit Type 2, which can be installed without any modifications on a C-130 and C-2 aircraft.

“We are looking at natural disaster prone countries such as India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, who also flies the C-130s, to acquire this aeromedical evacuation unit,” ATLA’s Kasugahara Daiki said.

Two units of the evacuation module can be mounted on these aircraft with the help of a cargo loader. Each unit can take two patients, and it has the capability of administering oxygen to three critically ill patients simultaneously for more than three hours.

“Once medical equipment and materials are installed within the unit, it has advanced medical monitoring and paramedic capabilities on par with and intensive care unit,” he added.
