Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is showcasing a new aircraft concept at the ongoing airshow in the Hindustan Lead in Fighter Trainer (HLFT-42).
A model of the new trainer is on display.
Company officials say that the HLFT-42 is a ‘Next Gen Supersonic Trainer’ and will play a critical role in modern combat aircraft training.
The new trainer will feature an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA), Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite, Infrared Search and Track (IRST) with Fly by Wire control (FBW) system. HAL already produces the HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft and is also developing the HJT-36 intermediate jet trainer.
An actual Tejas fighter in Final Operational Clearance (FOC) configuration is being displayed at the India Pavilion. HAL is also showcasing a civil certified Do-228.
HAL’s is displaying models of the new Indian Multi Role Helicopter (IMRH), LCA Mk 2, Hindustan Turbo-shaft Engine-1200, RUAV, LCA Trainer, Hindustan-228 etc at its indoor pavilion, while its outdoor display features the LUH and an ALH Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) variant.
HAL’s inaugural flypast at the show featured a formation flight of 15 helicopters consisting of all variants of Dhruv, ‘Prachand’ Light Combat Helicopter, and Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), in addition to LCA twin seater variants, Hawk-i, Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) and Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT)-40 aircraft.
