The HENSOLDT Group has announced a restructuring initiative to accelerate growth and maximise the benefits of its recent acquisition of ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH (ESG). The company will reorganise into four distinct divisions, each focused on different business areas: Radar, Optronics, Multi Domain Solutions, and Services & Training.
The Radar and Optronics divisions will continue to develop advanced defence electronics, enhancing cross-project operations to drive synergies. The Services & Training division will retain its current structure, aiming for growth beyond maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) into Training & Simulation services. The newly established Multi Domain Solutions division will serve as the company’s growth engine, integrating HENSOLDT’s Spectrum Dominance and Airborne Solutions with ESG’s capabilities. This division will offer integrated, multi-domain solutions across Land, Air, Naval, Cyber, and Space domains, providing a comprehensive, manufacturer- and platform-independent solution for customers.
“Our new structure will strengthen HENSOLDT’s position as a leading platform-independent European provider of seamlessly integrated defence solutions,” said HENSOLDT CEO Oliver Dörre. “This evolution of our divisional structure will enable us to focus on scaling our solutions business further, while also strengthening our core product portfolio. Our platform-independence is thereby essential to secure and develop critical capabilities for German and European defence requirements.”
Headquartered in Taufkirchen near Munich, Germany, HENSOLDT develops comprehensive sensor solutions for defence and security applications. As a system integrator, the company offers platform-independent, networked solutions and continues to advance defence electronics and optronics, leveraging innovative approaches to data fusion, artificial intelligence, and cyber security.
In 2023, HENSOLDT achieved a turnover of 1.85 billion euros. Following the ESG Group acquisition, the company employs around 8,000 people and is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the MDAX.
