Ivalua to Modernise BAE Systems Australia’s Spend Management

Our Bureau - : Sep 7, 2024 - : 8:25 pm

BAE Systems Australia has selected spend management software from Ivalua to streamline and modernise its supply chain processes. The company will implement Ivalua’s Source-to-Pay (S2P) platform with the aim of improving operational sustainability and mitigating risks associated with both direct and indirect supply chain spending.

With over 1,600 suppliers, BAE Systems Australia plays a significant role in supporting the Australian Defence Force, cyber intelligence operations, and commercial organisations. The new software is expected to provide enhanced visibility across the multi-tiered supply chain via a centralised platform, improving communication and efficiency within its supplier network.

In light of the strict quality and compliance requirements of the aerospace and defence industry, Ivalua’s platform will assist BAE Systems Australia in adhering to relevant regulations, including the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) and Defence Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).

Shaun Barrett, Supply Chain Director at BAE Systems Australia, said, “With its proven track record and expertise in the aerospace and defence industry, robust security standards, and ability to provide unparalleled visibility into both direct and indirect spend, Ivalua is the ideal partner for our digital modernisation journey as it will enable us to meet our complex supply chain requirements while enhancing automation and driving greater operational efficiency.”

The adoption of the Ivalua platform is also expected to boost collaboration between BAE Systems Australia and its suppliers, contributing to the development of a sovereign defence industry. The platform’s features will assist organisations aiming to navigate the increasingly complex regulations involved in the defence sector.

Ivalua serves several key players in the aerospace and defence sectors, including Rolls Royce, SAAB, and Rheinmetall. Andrew Stafford, VP of Ivalua’s APAC division, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “Ivalua is perfectly placed to empower businesses in the Aerospace and Defence industry to navigate their increasingly intricate supply chains and proactively manage daily challenges that threaten to disrupt their operations.”
