The Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) and its subsidiaries are participating in full strength in the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2022).
At its distinctive pavilion, JODDB is exhibiting a number of advanced defence and security solutions and systems, with an aim to market and display the capabilities acquired by the bureau over the years, and the capabilities that enables JODDB to develop defence and security solutions to meet the end user’s requirements.
JODDB`s participation highlights the progress it has achieved in the field of defence and security systems manufacturing, and the design and development of new specialised products based on modern technologies and high capabilities, with the help and expertise of Jordanian work forces. This can be clearly seen through the products that were launched for the first time in the exhibition, which can be deployed for the missions of Special Operations and Rapid Response Forces in armies and law enforcement agencies, The products help users face and neutralise rising challenges and threats using latest technologies, in line with the concept of hybrid warfare.
According to Rateb Abu Al-Ragheb, JODDB spokesperson and Head of Sales & Business Strategy, the company and its subsidiaries see SOFEX, an event in which manufacturers in the defence and security industries from various countries around the world have gathered, as a marketing opportunity. The exhibition is considered as an attractive platform for senior leaders, decision-makers, military and security officials from all the world to see the defence and security solutions on display, and the ones developed by JODDB in particular.
JODDB exhibits include a set of defence systems in the field of vehicles and land systems that suit the missions and requirements of Special Operations, Rapid Reaction and Counter-Terrorism Forces.
New Products
JODDB announced the launch of three new vehicles, Al Hajras Vehicle, a tactical armored vehicle with level VI protection (European standard), being one of them. The vehicle is characterized by its high ability to move and maneuver in open and build areas for its small size and lightweight. It is armed with a Remote Weapon Station that can be controlled from inside the vehicle, which makes it a reliable option for the protection of processions and suitable for use by Special Forces, internal security and counter-terrorism forces.
On another corner of JODDB pavilion, one can see Al Barq Vehicle, which was designed and developed to suit the duties of the rapid reaction forces, border guards, special operations and tasks related to reconnaissance and forest monitoring. This tactical light armoured vehicle, armed with a 7.62mm gun, is characterised by its high maneuverability in rough terrains. Al Barq is protected by removable chassis and laminated glass on the front and sides of the vehicle, in addition to, a protection shield for the shooter that is installed on the top of the vehicle.
Al Tariq is an integrated 81 mm mortar system mounted on a light vehicle platform that can be easily transported and easily folded to and from the ground to provide enhanced firing stability and accuracy through its electro-hydraulic deployment system. The system was developed to adopt an advanced firing control system (FCS), in addition to the manual fire control, and has the ability to be deployed and start shooting within (2) minutes. The vehicle carries (76) mortar rounds.
A new version of Al Wahsh that is mass-produced by JODDB subsidiary, Jordan Light Vehicle Manufacturing Company, is also on display. This vehicle has level IV protection (NATO Standard), anti-mine protection of the same level and RPG7 protection, a system that was developed by JODDB. Also and for the first time, the new version of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has been equipped with level 7 armoring according to European Standard.
Jordan Advanced Machining Company (JordanAMCO) is displaying an upgraded version of the armored cupola armed with GAU machine gun and another version that carries GMG launcher, in addition to light weapons cupolas that are currently utilized by several customers inside and outside Jordan.
