Kongsberg displays a model of its Naval Strike Missile (NSM) at its booth at the DSA 2022 expo.

After being selected by the Malaysian Navy to arm its future littoral combat vessels with NSM,the Norwegian defense company is looking forward to furthering its progress.

Recently, Kongsberg’s NSM has also been named as the preferred surface-to-surface missile candidate to arm KRI Golok (688), the first low-observable fast attack craft (FAC) of the Indonesian Navy. A live firing test is currently being planned which will likely take place in the next few months.

It has also been recently revealed that Kongsberg has collaborated with Thales Australia to pair a twin NSM launcher with a Bushmaster utility vehicle to become a land-based anti-ship missile system called “Strikemaster” for the Australian Army. The company believes that the first production version of the Strikemaster could start to enter active service as soon as in the next2-3 years.
