Lion Group orders 40 trainers

Jakarta-based Lion Group has made a firm order for 20 Cessna 172 trainers with options for 20 more for the group’s Wings Flying School at Cirebon in Java.

So far 14 aircraft have been delivered for use in ab initio training. “Another four Cessnas are due to be delivered in August-September,” said Audy Punuh, head of the Wings Flying School. So far the school has produced almost 70 graduates and next year will produce 150. “This large order … shows that Lion group is committed to creating job opportunities for Indonesians wishing to become commercial pilots,” says Lion Group president, Rusdi Kirana.
