MAS innovates with Bag Trace app

: Nov 28, 2013 - : 1:43 am

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has slashed the time taken to sort mishandled bag claims with a new tablet application called WorldTracer. “In the unfortunate case that passengers arrive without their bags, they want immediate action,” said Dato’ Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani, director of Customer Services, MAS.

The app scans boarding passes and bag tags using the tablet’s camera so no external devices are needed. As a result, the SITA-supplied app allows baggage to be traced from anywhere in the airport, in around five minutes. The WorldTracer app will be trialled for six months before full implementation.
