Netline Unveils New Drone Detection Sensor

Our Bureau - : Jun 25, 2024 - : 8:03 pm

Netline Communications Technologies, a developer and manufacturer of advanced electronic warfare and tactical spectrum dominance systems for defence forces and homeland security agencies, introduces a new approach to drone detection with its non-database direction-finding (DF) sensor.

Netline’s latest development is designed to detect all drone threats within the covered area, including various non-standard and DIY drones, which pose significant challenges in recent conflict zones.

“Netline is stepping up to meet the growing field demands for a comprehensive system that can identify and locate all potential drone threats. As the drone industry evolves, defence forces face new and complex challenges,” said Shai Palti, Netline’s CEO.

“Netline’s new approach provides our clients with a robust solution for detecting, locating, and mitigating every threat in the spectral area, even if it’s a new drone with unknown spectral signatures or communication links,” he added.

The new version of Netline’s DF sensor operates through three detection steps. Initially, the sensor scans the spectrum for all radio frequencies (RF) in the relevant bands, then separates targets from the spectral noise using a hybrid algorithm, and finally tracks the suspicious targets to assess their threat level based on various parameters.

Deploying two or more DF sensors in the covered area enables users to achieve precise localisation through the intersection of the two direction lines, ensuring an effective drone detection and localisation system.

These capabilities complement Netline’s established drone mitigation systems. Utilising SDR technology, Netline’s jammers disrupt communication between the drone and its operator, block GNSS signals, and cover all potential drone frequencies.
