The Herald Sun newspaper is reporting that the New Zealand Navy’s frigate “Te Mana” will visit Naval Station Guam this coming week. It will be the first visit by a New Zealand Naval Ship to a U.S. Port in 30 years, according to the report.

The “Te Mana” will take part in joint activities with their U.S. counterparts.

The announcement of the visit follows a brief meeting last Tuesday in Washington D.C. between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully says is a further sign of thawing ties.
