Indian state owned defence electronics firm Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has entered into an offset contract for setting up industrial facilities for the manufacture of a wide range aviation hoses in India.
The company entered into an offset contract with Rosoboronexport, Russia, for the same at the ongoing airshow.
The new facility will be setup at BEL Optronic Devices Limited, Pune.
Rosoboronexport will provide BEL with cost-effective, state-of-the-art technology based on modern production and testing machinery and proven technological processes for manufacturing high-quality aviation hoses.
The aviation hoses will be certified to international standards for all types of aircraft operating in India.
The contract is another step towards indigenisation of aviation in spares in India as aviation hoses are consumables used in large quantities during air force operations of various aircraft.
BEL produces a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment in fields such as Defence Communication, Radars, Naval Systems, C4I Systems, Weapon Systems, Homeland Security, Telecom & Broadcast Systems, Electronic Warfare, Tank Electronics, Electro Optics.
BEL has nine units India located in Bangalore, Ghaziabad, Pune, Machilipatnam, Panchkula, Kotdwara, Navi Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
