The Philippine Army (PA) is displaying their M113A2 Fire Support Vehicle (FSV) and M113A2 mortar carrier at the ADAS 2022 defense show at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, between 27-29 April.

As part of the Philippine Army’s recently reactivated 1st Tank Battalion, both M113A2 versions have been modified by Elbit Systems of Israel. The version of the M113A2 FSV that is being displayed is equipped with the company’s Dragon Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) armed with a 12.7 mm M2 Browning heavy machine gun.

The M113A2 mortar carrier version was also modified by Elbit Systems, mounting a 120 mm Cardom mortar made by Soltam, another Israeli company. The computerized and stabilized vehicle-mounted mortar system has a maximum range of 7,000 meters and a fire rate of up to 16 rounds per minute.

Both versions of the Elbit Systems’ upgraded M113A2 armored vehicles have been delivered to the Philippine Army from 2019 to 2021.
