Pindad’s Anoa 3 to be based on Arquus VAB MK 3

Our Bureau - : Nov 3, 2022 - : 4:18 am

Arquus is bringing the company’s VAB MK 3 to the ongoing Indo Defence 2022 show. In June this year, the French company signed an agreement with Indonesia’s PT Pindad for the joint development of armored vehicles including related supports. Bearing Pindad’s logo, the vehicle is named Anoa 3 which will be the next development of the Indonesian state-owned company’s Anoa series of 6×6 armored personnel carriers.

The previous iterations of Anoa were developed using VAB 6×6 APC as their base. Pindad and Arquus – Renault Trucks Defense then, before merging with ACMAT and Panhard to become Arquus in 2018 – have more than 15 years of history of cooperation and collaboration. Other than providing a development base for Pindad’s Anoa, the French company is also supplying power packs for Pindad’s Badak 6×6 Fire Support Vehicles (FSV), as well as the chassis for Pindad’s Komodo 4×4 utility armored car.
