Our Bureau - : Oct 25, 2024 - : 2:17 am

The Turkish missile house Roketsan is displaying new products for the first time at SAHA Expo.

At the centre stage was a new vehicle mounted CİRİT launcher. Configured for special missions on a 4×4 chassis, a quadruple launcher has been fitted on the vehicle. Four missiles are also carried onboard the vehicle for a second-strike capability. It will be able to engage targets as far away as 8 km, enhancing the strike capability of Special Forces (SF) units. The CİRİT was originally designed by Roketsan to fill the tactical gap between unguided 2.75” rockets and guided anti-tank missiles.

Also unveiled is the LG-155 laser-guided artillery round which will have a range of 25 km. The guided artillery munition weighs 50 kg, with a 22 kg High Explosive (HE) warhead. The munition features inertial aided mid-course guidance with a laser guided terminal phase. Fired from 155 mm howitzers, it can be used to engage artillery and air defence systems, radar and command and control sites, logistics facilities, assembly areas and other high-priority targets. The LG-155 laser-guided artillery round is still in the development phase, company officials told Daily News.

The new L-OMTAS laser guided medium range Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) will be able to precisely engage armored targets. The ATGM features a IR Imaging Infrared seeker and will be available with four different warhead types. Each round will weigh 32 kg. The L-OMTAS will have a range of 5.5 km and can be used to strike fixed and moving targets, tanks, armoured vehicles, soft-skinned vehicles and concrete blockhouses.
