The Royal Australian Navy’s biggest ever warship, the Helicopter Landing Dock (amphibious assault ships) known as ‘Nuship Canberra’, steamed through Sydney Heads and into her home port for the first time at Thursday, March 13, 2014.

The 27,000-tonne, 230-metre-long warship has been conducting sea trials off the NSW coast and docked at her home port of Fleet Base East at Garden Island soon after entering the harbour.

The ship is technically still owned by her buyer, the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) and won’t be handed to the Navy for commissioning until final trials have been concluded later this year.
