Scoot, the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines, recently received the first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft at Changi Airport.

“We are excited to receive our first E190-E2 aircraft in Singapore today,” said Leslie Thng, Scoot’s CEO in the airline’s press release on Monday (Apr. 15).

“This milestone marks the start of a new chapter for Scoot and it is made possible with the hard work of our staff and support of our valued partners including Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Changi Airport Group (CAG), Embraer and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) who have worked closely with us over the past year to ensure that the E190-E2 aircraft are ready for entry into service.”

“We look forward to welcoming our customers on board our new aircraft soon,” he added.

Named Explorer 3.0, the aircraft is part of nine E190-E2 aircraft the airline ordered in 2023. Scoot expects the delivery of the second aircraft at the end of this month and the remaining seven to be progressively delivered by the end of 2025.

Starting in May 2024, Scoot will serve round-trip flights from Singapore to three destinations in Malaysia and three more in Thailand with its new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. These destinations are Miri, Kuantan, and Sibu in Malaysia as well as Krabi, Hat Yai, and Koh Samui in Thailand.
