SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) and Xiamen Iport Group (IPORT Group) have signed a non-binding Framework Agreement to consider SIAEC’s potential investment in Arport Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering (Fujian) (Arport AME). Arport AME, a subsidiary of IPORT Group, operates in Fujian, China, providing line maintenance and ground services across regional airports.
This agreement follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two companies on 4 September 2023 to assess maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) prospects in Fujian. Since then, discussions have been held to define collaboration areas, leading to the establishment of the Framework Agreement. Moving forward, SIAEC and IPORT Group will work toward finalising and signing binding agreements, subject to regulatory compliance and approvals.
The IPORT Group manages airports in Xiamen, Fuzhou, Wuyishan, and Longyan, with Arport AME offering line maintenance and ground support services at these locations. SIAEC brings a comprehensive MRO portfolio, certifications, and technical capabilities, while IPORT Group offers extensive infrastructure and resources in Fujian. Through this potential partnership, both companies aim to expand Arport AME’s MRO services to include base maintenance and other related services.
As of the current announcement, no binding agreements have been formalised regarding the Framework Agreement’s proposals, and there is no guarantee that a final agreement will be reached. SIAEC will issue updates on the collaboration as developments occur, including the conclusion of any definitive agreements.
None of SIAEC’s directors or controlling shareholders has any direct or indirect interest in the Framework Agreement, aside from their shareholdings in the company, if applicable.
