Singapore Airlines to Boost Flights for 2025 Summer Season

: Aug 15, 2024 - : 8:28 am

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced plans to increase flight frequencies and passenger capacity across its network for the 2025 Northern Summer operating season, which runs from 30 March to 25 October 2025. These adjustments are intended to accommodate higher demand for air travel to various popular destinations.

Starting from 30 March 2025, SIA will upgrade its London (Gatwick) service from five times a week to a daily flight. This, in combination with its four daily flights to London (Heathrow), will result in five daily services to the UK capital.

The airline will also enhance its Rome service, increasing it to five weekly flights between 26 June and 28 August 2025, up from the current four.

Mr Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, stated, “Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to align our capacity with demand. These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans. We look forward to connecting our customers to the world with SIA’s extensive network, and delivering an unparalleled travel experience.”

In a further adjustment, Singapore Airlines will temporarily separate its Singapore-Milan-Barcelona service from 24 June to 7 September 2025, allowing for more direct flights between Singapore and the two European cities. During this period, Barcelona will see five direct flights per week, an increase from the current two, while Milan will have a daily service, up from four weekly flights.

For Adelaide, the airline will increase flights to 10 per week across both the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons, up from the current seven. Frequencies to Ho Chi Minh City will rise to three daily flights, up from 19 times weekly, and services to Siem Reap will double to twice daily.

A three-times weekly service to Johannesburg will be added from 11 December 2024 to 10 January 2025 and from 2 April 2025 to 24 October 2025, bringing the total number of flights to the city to 10 per week during these periods, up from the current daily service.

The Airbus A380 will be reintroduced on one of the two daily Tokyo (Narita) services between 30 March and 31 May 2025, replacing the Boeing 787-10. However, the A380 will be temporarily withdrawn from the Mumbai route from 28 July to 31 August 2025, and from the Delhi route from 23 June to 27 July 2025, with the Boeing 777-300ER taking over.

As part of these adjustments, Singapore Airlines will suspend its Houston via Manchester service from 1 April 2025. Nevertheless, the airline will maintain its five-times weekly service between Singapore and Manchester.
