After delivering hail damage mapping services through 8tree’s dentCHECK-as-a-Service program, dentCHECK is now an integral part of SWISS’ maintenance tech stack, enhancing damage mapping workflows and reducing aircraft Turn-Around-Times (TaT).

The dentCHECK tool from 8tree has already been in use within the Lufthansa Group for some time. Following an in-depth review and initial experience through recent hail damage mapping activities, dentCHECK is now in use at Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) in Zurich, Switzerland.

“dentCHECK from 8tree has proven to be a highly useful tool for SWISS, significantly streamlining our daily operations. Its ability to automatically generate detailed, professional reports ensures we have all the critical information at hand. In the aviation industry, where time is crucial for maintaining both punctuality and safety, this specialized solution offers us a distinct advantage. We are highly impressed with its performance and the efficiency it brings to our workflow”, said Claus Bauer, Head of Technical Fleet Management at SWISS.

“We are delighted to welcome SWISS as yet another Lufthansa Group member to the growing base of dentCHECK users”, said Leonard Buck, Marketing & Business Development Manager, 8tree. “Swiss International Air Lines joins a growing community of more than three dozen airlines, MROs, and OEMs who rely on dentCHECK for end-to-end digitalized 1-click 3D dent-mapping. We’re looking forward to empowering the mechanics and engineers at SWISS maintenance operations.”

The dentCHECK platform is the world’s only handheld-portable, completely wireless 3D scanner tool with integrated AR that is purpose-built for the aviation maintenance industry and recognized by all major aerospace OEMs. It can also be found integrated into drones and robotic automation cells. Leading Airlines & MROs across the commercial, military, cargo and business aviation sectors use 8tree’s dentCHECK tool and 8tree’s dentCHECK-as-a-service for mapping aircraft damage and creating detailed SRM-compliant digital damage reports.

With integrated AR, dentCHECK empowers the aircraft technician with instant, actionable measurements for critical airframe damage while boosting consistency (18x), accuracy (20x), efficiency (90% time-savings) and eliminating human-subjectivity, compared to traditional manual inspection methods. dentCHECK delivers precision measurements ‘as simple as taking a photo’, and enhances safety through an improved understanding of airframe reliability.
