Terraton breaks cover (SINGAPORE AIRSHOW 2014 – DAY 2)

: Feb 13, 2014 - : 8:42 pm

ST Kinetics has an interesting little vehicle on display at the Changi Exhibition Centre. Named the Terraton, it is an unmanned vehicle designed for security patrols. It can be manually operated, with space for two inside the compact but unarmoured body, or it can be operated autonomously using preset GPS coordinates. This makes it ideal for patrolling a fence line or perimeter, for example.

The petrol-powered Terraton was displayed with a payload consisting of loudspeakers, camera and radar that can be elevated when the vehicle is stationary. A spokeswoman noted that the Terraton is still at the development stage after the project kicked off two years ago. ST Kinetics is now working to improve it, but it believes such a vehicle can find a niche in Singapore or in the region.
